Dr. Peták István
Co-Founder & Board Member @ Oncompass Medicine
I have been passionate about finding the right targeted therapies for cancer patients for 25+ years. My journey started in pediatric oncology and molecular pharmacology. Now I am an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Biopharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), and I also teach at Semmelweis University, Budapest. I have co-authored over 150 scientific publications in molecular pharmacology and predictive diagnostics of targeted anti-cancer therapies. I founded two medical technology companies. Oncompass Medicine (Budapest), which I co-founded in 2003, pioneered the development of predictive molecular diagnostics and biomarkers. Genomate Health (Cambridge, MA), which I founded in 2022, focuses on developing next-generation computational medical devices using cognitive artificial intelligence to improve, automate, and standardize personalized treatment decisions and bring us closer to the full implementation of the concept of precision oncology. I am a proud father of three wonderful children.
